Village Focus International (VFI) is a small non-profit headquartered in Vientiane, Laos that fights human trafficking and invests in local leaders to improve lives.
Contributions support VFI in several ways:
- Contributions support VFI’s Protection and Empowerment of Women and Children Program that oversees two shelters for human trafficking victims and educates villagers on human trafficking prevention.
- Funds also support VFI’s Land and Livelihoods Program that works with village leaders to secure land rights and increase crop yields, thereby eliminating the pressure villagers face to send their young children into the bondage of human slavery.
- Finally, as with most small nonprofits, VFI counts on donors to provide assistance with modest organizational and communications needs required to implement innovative programs.
Thanks to donor contributions thousands of Lao villagers live in healthy communities free from the scourge of human trafficking, are employing innovative farming and vocational techniques that raise incomes, and are equipped to protect themselves from land grabs by those seeking to take advantage of the uneducated.
